Activity on European policies at IES La Albericia

In February, as part of the Jean Monnet activities of the Applied International Economics and Economic Policy Group of the University of Cantabria, Professor Marcos Fernández and the GE/GADE Double Degree student and collaborator of the Department of Economics, Marina Gutiérrez Martínez, gave a class on European policies to twenty students of the International Relations subject (2nd year of Baccalaureate) of the IES La Albericia (Santander). In the session, in which they were accompanied by the subject professor, Gonzalo Revuelta, Marcos Fernández explained what a class on European policies is like at the University and gave an introduction to EU policies and the current dilemmas facing the European integration process. Next, Marina Gutiérrez developed an interactive practical activity in which the students participated in a quiz about socio-economic data of the European Union, aimed at breaking with some stereotypes and getting started in the use of official sources to influence disinformation. The activity is part of the Next Generation Policy Makers, which aims to address issues related to European affairs aimed at the younger population.
