On April 29th at 3:00 PM CET, a webinar was held by the University of Cantabria as part of the Jean Monnet Special Lecture and the GreenPaths project (https://greenpaths.info). The guest speaker was Esther Badiola, Principal Climate Finance Advisor at the European Investment Bank (EIB). During the session, entitled “Financing the Green Transition: The Role of the European Investment Bank,” Badiola explained the EIB’s vision and actions regarding the green and just transition process to students of European Economic Policy. The event was attended by approximately 140 people, including students and members of civil society interested in the topic.
The webinar offered a unique opportunity to understand how funds allocated to the green transition are structured and managed, as well as to analyze the main challenges facing green finance today. Through a detailed presentation, attendees learned about the EIB’s strategies and activities in the field of sustainable finance, exchanged ideas and perspectives on the green and just transition, and identified opportunities for collaboration to foster stakeholder engagement in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
