Marcos Fernández-Gutiérrez
Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Cantabria.
MA in Public Policy from the University Pompeu Fabra-The Johns Hopkins University, PhD in Economics from the University of Cantabria. Marcos has participated in international (Seventh Framework Programme, Jean Monnet and Horizon 2020) and national competitive research projects. He has published his research in journals as Public Administration Review, Computers&Education, Journal of Economic Policy Reform, International Review of Administrative Sciences, Regulation&Governance, Regional Studies and Journal of Regulatory Economics, among others, as well as in several books and book chapters.
At present, he is Coordinator of the Inter-university Master in Economics at the University of Cantabria, and Director of the Jean Monnet Module in Economic and Financial System and Regional Development (EUFIREG).

Julio Revuelta
Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Cantabria.
PhD in Economics from the University of Cantabria (2012) and MSc in Economics from the University of País Vasco, University of Cantabria and University of Oviedo (2008). He was visiting researcher at Politecnico di Milano (2013) and Trinity College Dublin (2011)...
He has published his research in leading academic journals, including Journal of European Public Policy, Journal of Latin American Studies, Economics of Governance and Utilities Policy, among others. At present, his research lines are focused on income distribution and public policy evaluation in the European Union and Latin America.

Daniel Díaz-Fuentes
Daniel received his PhD in Economics in 1992 from University of Alcala, Madrid, Spain. He is currently Full Professor in Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Santander, Spain. He became an Associated Professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 1992, a Visiting Scholar at University of Michigan in 1992, a Senior Associated Member at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford in 1993, a Visiting Researcher at London School of Economics and Political Science in 1996, a Visiting Researcher at University of Manchester in 1999, a Senior Research Fellow at European University Institute, Florence Italy in 2006, a Visiting Professor at University of Cornell in 2014 and a Visiting Fellow at University of Oxford in 2019-20. ..
His current research interests concentrate on the transforming potential of Regional Development Banks and Innovation and Internationalization in Public Services with particular focus on Europe and Latin America.
Prof. Diaz-Fuentes has been principal investigator in several European Union and International research projects such as VII FP COCOPS (Coordination for Cohesion in the Public Sector) from 2011 to 2014, H2020 CITADEL (Empowering Citizens to Transform Public Administrations) from 2016 to 2019, and H2020 TOKEN (Transformative impact of distributive Technologies in Public Services) since 2020. He has a long-term publication trajectory with more 100 articles in journals such as Journal of Common Market Studies, Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society, and Public Management Review. He is elected vice President of the World Economy Society and serves as Associated Editor of the Journal of Economic Policy Reform.

Judith Clifton
I am Professor and Founding Director of the Jean Monnet Chair of EU Economic Policy for Business & Civil Society at the Faculty of Business & Economic Sciences, University of Cantabria and Principal Investigator on one of the largest projects to date on Disruptive Technologies in the Public Sector, TOKEN (Horizon2020, 4 Mill EUR, 2020-24). My areas of expertise are public services and their transformation, whilst I am also interested in public banks, especially, the European Investment Bank, most recently, its role during the COVID-19 pandemic...
I serve as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Economic Policy Reform and am Co-Editor of Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy & Society and Cambridge Elements in Public Policy. I also serve on Policy & Society, Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis, Utilities Policy, and Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics editorial boards. I have held several prestigious appointments, including Jean Monnet Chair (2017-2020), Fulbright Fellow (Cornell 2014-15), Mario Einaudi Fellow (2015), Ramón y Cajal Fellow (Oviedo), British Council Fellow (CSIC) and CONACYT Fellow (Colegio de México). I have lectured and conducted research in leading European and US universities, including University of Oxford, Cambridge University, Cornell University, Leeds University, Oviedo University and most currently, Cantabria University.
I received a DPhil in Political Economy from the University of Oxford (St. Antony’s) in 1998 after completing a Masters in Contemporary International Studies (Distinction) at the University of Leeds. I have served as consultant for the World Bank, United Nations, OECD, European Commission, European Public Service Trade Unions, the Greek government (during negotiations with ECB/EC/IMF), CIRIEC and CEEP. I have consulted international media and have been cited in The Financial Times and The Economist. I regularly serve as Vice-Chair or Expert for Horizon 2020 research evaluation and Marie Curie Fellowships.

José Manuel Alonso
Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Cantabria, and Honorary Research Fellow at the Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University.
Jose Manuel holds an MSc and PhD in Economics from the University of the Basque Country, University of Cantabria and University of Oviedo. I serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, and the Journal of Economic Policy Reform...My research interests include public service performance and public sector reform, with an emphasis on marketization, cross-sector partnerships and decentralization. I have recently published in leading academic journals including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration Review, and World Development, among others.

Ana Lara Gómez
Assistant Profesor of Applied Economics at the University of Cantabria.
Ana Lara has a degree in Economics (specialization in International Economics), a master’s degree in Economics of International Trade and European Integration, a second Master’s in Economics and PhD with international mention in Economics. ...
She has won the ‘Enrique Fuentes Quintana Award’ (FUNCAS) to the best doctoral thesis in the area of social sciences for the year 2018/2019, and the Social Council of the University of Cantabria Award to the best doctoral thesis in the area of economic and social sciences for the year 2019. She obtained a competitive postdoctoral scholarship by the Cantabria Parliament and the University of Cantabria. In 2018 Ana was a visiting researcher at the University of Costa Rica, one of the most prestigious institutions in Central America in the field of the social sciences, where she collaborated with prominent academics and professionals specialized in international financial institutions.
Likewise, she has participated and participates in competitive research projects, such as a project financed by the European Investment Bank, an H2020 project (CITADEL), a Santander Financial Institute project or a project funded by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies. In addition, she was member of the Jean Monnet Module and Chair of EU Economic Policy for Business & Civil Society at the University of Cantabria. Previously Ana enjoyed a PhD scholarship by the Lombardy Advanced School of Economic Research. Additional experience includes working for the Economic and Foreign Trade Department of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco or the French journal of economics, Futuribles.
As a researcher, she is specialized in International Financial Institutions and the European integration; specifically, on issues related to the evaluation of those institutions and the analysis of the economic policy implications of the different alternatives in the provision of funding. Other areas of her specialization include cohesion policy, the effect of international financing and the effects of the 2008 economic crisis. As a result of the development of these lines of research, she has published several articles in international journals specialized in European politics and applied economics, and several book chapters in recognized academic publishers.

Diego Cagigas
Diego Cagigas received the BSc in Economics at the University of Cantabria, Spain, and the MSc in Economics and Management at the Barcelona School of Economics (BGSE)-Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) in 2019. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Economics at the University of Cantabria (UC) with a full-time research scholarship...
Previously, he has worked as Research Assistant at the Independent Authority of Fiscal Responsibility (Madrid, Spain) in projects on spending analysis and modernization of the public administration. His research interests include public economics, innovation economics, digital economy, blockchain, modernization of the public sector and regional development.

Ángela Saiz Linares
Assistant professor in the Department of Education, University of Cantabria (Spain).
MA in Research and Innovation in Educational Contexts from the University of Cantabria (2012) and PhD (with honours) in Education from the same University (2016). She has also been Visiting Research Fellow at the Education Research Centre of the University of Brighton (UK), the FISPPA Department (Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy and Applied Psychology) of the University of Padua (Italy) and at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra (Portugal).
She is a member of the INPAR-ES research group at the University of Cantabria and she has participated in 3 competitive R+D+i projects funded by the National Plan (Ref.EDU200806511-C0202; Ref.EDU201129928-C0303 and Ref.EDU2015-68617-C4-4-R), a project funded by the European Commission (Ref.CIP-ICTPSP-20137-621127) and in the Collaborative Network for Educational and Social Inclusion (Ref.EDU2009-08220-E).
She has published her research in leading academic journals, including Reflective Practice: International and Multidisciplinary Perspectives, Qualitative Research, British Educational Research Journal, Education Policy Analysis Archives, among others. Her current research topics are linked to initial teacher education and practicum, student voice, educational and social participation and participatory research with socially vulnerable groups.

Lorea Romero Gutiérrez
Predoctoral researcher in the Areas of Sociology and History of Science of the University of Cantabria (UC).
BA in Sociology from the University of Salamanca (2014), MA in Sexology and Gender from Fundación Sexpol- UJCR (2016) and PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) from the UC (2017). At present, she is pursuing her PhD in the interuniversity program of Equity and Innovation in Education in the UC with a fellow of the Predoctoral Program for Research Training of the UC (call 2017).
Her PhD dissertation focuses on women and gender studies and curricular innovation. Her research interests include feminist theories and methodologies, sociology of education, social studies of science and youth research.
She is also a teaching assistant in the Area of Sociology od the University of Cantabria and she participates in assessment activities in the Catalan University Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya) and other UC committees as a student member.
She obtained a collaboration grant at the Office for Gender Equality of the University of Cantabria (2016-2017) and an Iberoamérica Santander Bank undergraduate grant at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2013). She was awarded the prize for the best masters dissertation on women and gender studies at the Universidad de Cantabria for the academic years 2016-2017 (Aula Isabel Torres, 2018) and the prize for best academic achievement of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Salamanca (2014).
She has been involved in social and gender research consultancy with different state, regional and local public agencies, including the Spanish Institute of Women and the Government of Cantabria. Her record of publications includes scholarly works on her research fields as well as technical-scientific reports on gender violence and women and men participation in ICT Society.
